Glen Grant 1957 Gordon and MacPhail 64 Year Old Mr George Legacy / 2nd Edition

A remarkable 1957 Glen Grant, bottled as a 64-year-old for the second edition of Gordon & MacPhail’s Mr. George Legacy. Mr George, of course, refers to George Urquhart, the legendary director who invented the Connoisseurs Choice range in 1968, and grandfather of G&M’s current Operations Director, Stuart Urquhart.

This 64-year-old Glen Grant 1957 is from a first fill sherry butt, Cask #3483, that has given it an extraordinarily dark chestnut colour, and yielded a batch of 298 bottles at a jaw-dropping 56.1%. The list of incredible Glen Grants bottled by Gordon & MacPhail is a very long one, but this 1957 64-year-old looks destined to go straight into the pantheon.

This incredible whisky was filled into single first-fill ex-Sherry butt #3483 on 10th October 1957. It was bottled at cask strength in 2021 and resulted in 298 bottles.
